meeting lawrence lessig!!!

just when i thought i could surprise the professor with my purchase of his newest book - which is not even for sale yet in Hong Kong - he surprised me first by blogging a photo that I took yesterday!!!!

so this is what happened today, in lessig's own words:

"Most amazing fact of the day however: I posted a Flickr image of the cover of the book to distract from the Spencer review. I didn't know the photographer, and certainly didn't know where she was from. I'm not even quite sure how I even came across the image. But after my talk here in Hong Kong, she came up to me. She had seen the image on my blog."

now at least he'll remember me for something.  hehe envy me :)

as for his talk, like i said on facebook, it's good especially if you're hearing it for the first time, but i still find it entertaining having seen/heard most of it before on the web.  it's pretty clear from the audience's response that most of them were indeed hearing it for the first time, which is good, because it's important that more people get to know about creative commons, about free culture, and about why there is a need for a change in this area of law.
